Basic Training on Hydrological Analysis and Water Resources Management

The eleven-day long training program on “Basic Training on Hydrological Analysis and Water Resources Management”, organized by The Small Earth Nepal, was completed on 16 November 2011. The resource persons for the training were Er. Kiran Shankar Yogacharya, Executive Director, Hydro-Engineering Services (P) Ltd., (Former Director General, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology), Dr. Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Senior Research Scientist (Water Resources), Nepal Development Research Institute and Dr. Dilip Kumar Gautum, Senior Divisional Hydrologist, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Thirteen participants including graduate students and mid-career professionals from various institutions participated in the program. The program was designed to provide an insight into the Basic Hydrological Concepts, Data Preparation, Flow Analysis, Application of GIS on Hydrology, Hydrological Modelling, Impact of Climate Change in Hydrology and Hydrological Design. The program was fruitful for both the students and professionals who are carrying out research in the field of Hydrological Modelling and Water Resources Management.
