Workshop on Nature Photography: Connecting People to Nature
The Small Earth Nepal (SEN) in partnership with International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is organizing a ‘Workshop on Nature Photography’ on the occasion of World Environment Day (WED)-2017, to mark the importance of the day. The theme of WED this year is “Connecting People to Nature“.
Nature photography has various importance including updating and keeping record of the nature for future reference and advertising scenic beauty. The photography, as either a professional or a hobby, is increasing in the world and in Nepal too. It has become a fascinating hobby in Nepal especially among youngsters due to the rapid expansion of smart/camera phones in recent years. However, many of them may lack the proper way and techniques to capture the photographs; therefore, a workshop to the students who are from conservation sector or interested in nature photography is very essential and timely. In this connection, we are organizing a workshop on nature photography among the university students in Nepal.
In the workshop, there will be presentations from experts and hands-on exercise for basic technical skills on photography. The workshop will be followed by a guided tour around the ICIMOD Knowledge Park where participants will learn and take photographs and submit their one best photo at the end of the tour for the competition. A rapid evaluation by a jury panel will select three best photographs to award. Also, top ten best photographs will be shared to wider audience through our official Facebook page and will be exhibited during a workshop at the knowledge park on 5 June.

Criteria’s to Apply
- Keen interest in photography having either DSLR or Compact camera.
- Studying Bachelors/Masters or recently graduated from any university in Nepal or beyond
