THE SMALL EARTH NEPAL

On 28 November 2023, The Small Earth Nepal (SEN) with Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 24 Office, conducted a policy workshop under the “Floating Treatment Wetland System (FTWS)” project supported by the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN). The workshop shared the results and the achievements with the participants from relevant government, non-government, development organizations and researchers. It gathered suggestions from the group work of participants in policy recommendations for the sustainable management of the lakes. Total of 39 individuals participated in the program.

The program was Chaired by Ms. Nisha Malbul, Acting Chairperson of Ward 24 office and Mr. Chiri Babu Maharjan, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City as a Chief guest.

Delibrations emphasized the need and replication of similar projects in Nepal to protect the wetlands and other water bodies of the valley. The Mayor emphasized the need for such initiations and showed his commitment for support and collaboration. Similarly, the representatives from the community organizations at Nagdaha and the Acting Ward Chairperson provided their commitment in supporting Nagdaha conservation programs.
