On site interaction meeting with the community radio broadcasters for radio program on the Floating Treatment Wetland System (FTWS)

The Small Earth Nepal (SEN) conducted an interaction meeting with five community radio broadcasters at Nagdaha, Lalitpur on 16 April 2024. Eight representatives from five community radios around Kathmandu valley and 7 members of local community groups from Nagdaha participated in the program.

 

The main aim of the program was to inform community radio representatives about the FTWS project and discuss the design of the radio program and broadcast through their respective radios to the wider audience. This meeting also aimed at showing them floating rafts at Nagdaha physically and providing them an opportunity to interact with the representatives of the local community groups and SEN to have face to face interaction for gathering information.

 

Ms. Ayaswori Byanju, Project Research Assistant, SEN welcomed the participants, briefly introduced the project, and highlighted the objectives of the meeting. Mr. Rajesh Ramtel, Program Associate, World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters provided the context for discussion and design of the radio program. Representatives from community radios discussed and interacted with the team from SEN and representatives of community groups and gathered information. Community radios will develop the concept and outline of their respective programs and finalize them in discussion with the SEN team before the broadcasting soon within a few weeks.
